Ignite the Light of Hope Celebrates 2026 'A Night of Hope' Honoring Community Leadership in Los Angeles

Ignite the Light of Hope hosts their annual fundraising evening advancing food security, education, housing support, and opportunity for underserved families.

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, June 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Ignite the Light of Hope hosted its 2026 signature fundraising and community celebration, A Night of Hope, bringing together supporters, sponsors, community partners, volunteers, board members and special guests for an evening dedicated to service, impact and the continued advancement of families across Greater Los Angeles.

The event highlighted Ignite the Light of Hope’s ongoing commitment to providing essential resources to underserved communities, including food assistance, educational support, housing-related resources and access to opportunity. The evening served as both a celebration of collective progress and a renewed call to action, reinforcing the organization’s belief that hope is strengthened through service, partnership and sustained community investment.

Hosted by comedian Concrete and Nisha Sadekar, CEO of Play Golf Designs Inc., the evening opened with laughter, celebration and heartfelt reflection. Lorraine Aceves, founder of Ignite the Light of Hope, shared the organization’s beginnings during the pandemic, when she and her family began assembling care packages from their kitchen table to support families experiencing hunger, anxiety and uncertainty.

“Tonight is called A Night of Hope because that is exactly what we are here to provide,” said Lorraine Aceves, founder of Ignite the Light of Hope. “What began as a response to an urgent need during the pandemic became a calling to serve our community with consistency, compassion and purpose. The generosity of our donors, volunteers, partners and helping hands allows us to continue providing food and basic needs to underserved communities. This vital support sustains our three core services — our mobile food pantry, our Bags of Hope delivery program and our homeless outreach program — ensuring that no family has to struggle in silence while facing food insecurity.”

Since its founding, Ignite the Light of Hope has grown into a vital community resource, serving more than 250,000 people in need and establishing meaningful partnerships with organizations and initiatives including the San Fernando Together initiative, the William S. Hart School District and additional local partners supporting Title I students and families. Demand for the foundation’s services has recently increased by 80 percent, underscoring the urgent need for continued support.

A highlight of the evening was the Ignite the Light of Hope Awards presentation, presented in partnership with Waste Management, recognizing individuals and organizations whose generosity, leadership and service continue to advance the foundation’s mission. Through the awards presentation, Ignite the Light of Hope honored community members who have strengthened the organization’s ability to serve families, provide critical resources and expand its reach across the region.

The Legacy Gift Award, presented in partnership with Waste Management, was awarded to Juan Mora in recognition of his generosity and commitment to using his baseball tournaments as a platform for service. Through dedicated toy drives, Mora has helped Ignite the Light of Hope deliver holiday gifts to children in local neighborhoods, homeless shelters, orphanages and communities across the border in Tijuana.

The Community Heartbeat Award, presented in partnership with Waste Management, was awarded to Cathy Zavala & Weiss Accountancy in recognition of five years of steadfast support for Ignite the Light of Hope and the families it serves. Their contributions have included annual food drives, toy drives, supply drives and gift card donations, providing meaningful support during critical moments of need.

The Engine of Hope Award, presented in partnership with Waste Management, was awarded to David Fimbres of Blvd Moving for his ongoing logistical support and generosity. Through donated trucks, drivers, storage and transportation resources, Fimbres has played an essential role in helping the foundation deliver food, holiday turkeys, supplies and other critical resources to families throughout the community.

The evening concluded with a live musical performance by musical and drum sensation Denise Zavala, with music by DJ J Rose. A Night of Hope reflected the power of collective action and reaffirmed Ignite the Light of Hope’s commitment to serving families with dignity, compassion and care.
